Mrs. Nora C. Mahoney, 403 S. Grant, died early Sunday morning after a short illness. She was 83.

A Wake Bible Service will be at 7:30 PM today in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 11:30 AM Wednesday in St. Francis Xavier Church with the Rev. Larry Kowalski officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Mahoney was born on a farm near Sayre and graduated from Sayre high school. She attended Kid Kee College, near Sherman, Texas. She later received her registered nursing degree in Oklahoma City and moved to Enid about 1921.

She married Dr. John Mahoney in 1923 and he preceded her in death, dying in 1932. Besides working for her husband, she was a nurse for doctors Fields, Merryfield and Chambers before retiring.

Mrs. Mahoney was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, the Alter Society and the BPW. A brother and sister preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Bill E. Mahoney, Los Angeles, California; two grandchildren, four brothers, Archie B. Price, Fresno, California; Oscar P. And Millard L. Price, Sayre; and Ray Price, Monahans, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. Sue Douglas, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mrs. Mary Stubbs, Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral Rites are Pending for Dr. J. E. Mahoney

Family Awaits Word From Relatives in Pennsylvania

Definite funeral arrangements had not been completed late last night for Dr. John Edwin Mahoney, a widely known Enid physician who died at 4:30 yesterday morning in an Enid hospital following a stroke of paralysis from which he had suffered since last Friday night.

Word was being awaited from relatives in Pennsylvania before last rites are planned.

Coming to Enid 1909, Dr. Mahoney became identified with the community life of the city as one of its leading physicians. He had graduated three years before from the Jefferson Medical college in Philadelphia.

As a member of the Garfield County Medical Association, he became widely known in this section of the state. Dr. Mahoney was also a member of the Elks Lodge for many years.

He is survived by his widow and a son Billie of the home at 631 E. Elm, and three children by a former marriage. Helen, Elizabeth and John Mahoney, all of Enid.

Also surviving are four sisters and one brother, all of Philadelphia. They are Miss Sadie Mahoney, Miss Charlotte Mahoney, Mrs. James Fonderly, Mrs. Wilton Holstad and Will Mahoney.

The body is being cared for by the Brown Funeral Home.
