Mass of Christian burial for Ora Lee Kruse, 91-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Irwin will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Ora Lee was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Cherokee, Okla., to Frank and Margaret Marie (Scherer) Mitchell and died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.

She attended St. Joseph's Academy, graduating in 1938. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital and also at Woolworth's. On March 28, 1941, she married Dale Kruse in Goltry. The couple made their home on the farm in Hillsdale. She was a bookkeeper for J.C. Penny's and retired from the company after many years of service.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to dances with her husband and listening to his band

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Rogers and husband Gary of Enid and Pat Starner and her companion Matt Lewis of Rockford, Ill.; two sons, Melvin Kruse and wife Sharon of Enid and Wayne Kruse and wife Mary of Hillsdale; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary and Lorraine; one brother Mike; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale in 2007; two brothers, Kelly and Boyd; and one sister, Peggy.
