Calvary Catholic Cemetery


Requiem High Mass for Jacob W. Knecht, 82, who died May 19 in an Enid hospital, will be today, 10 AM, in St. Francis Xavier Church. Burial under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Recitation of the Rosary will be today, 8 PM in Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Knecht was born in Tiffin, Ohio, and moved with his parents to a claim near Lovell as a child. He married Elizabeth Ludwig, June 30, 1911 and in 1928 they moved to a farm southeast of Enid. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

His wife preceded him in death in 1960 and a son, Clifford, died in 1926.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. P. M. (Faye) Storms, Wellington, Kansas, and Mrs. J. E. (Lelah) Tracy, Enid; three sons, Harley P., Oklahoma City, Warren J., Enid, and John D., Tulsa; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Roseberry, St. Joseph, Missouri, 24 grandchildren and four great – grandchildren.
