Miss Rita Ann Kennedy died peacefully Saturday, July 7, 2012, rejoining her beloved family. Born Oct. 20, 1925, to William and Grace (Barnes) Kennedy, she resided at the family home at 511 West Broadway for over 50 years before moving with her mother to their Cardinal Place home. Rita was the youngest of nine children, Tom, Bee, Bill, Marguerite, Maurine, Helen, Sarah Marie and Jack, all of whom predeceased her. Rita was Valedictorian of her 1943 class at St. Joseph's High School and attended Enid Business College, graduating in 1945.

For 37 years, Rita managed property for Champlin Oil, retiring when the company moved to Ft. Worth, Texas. Rita will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Her family wishes to thank the staff of Greenbrier Nursing Home for the affection and concern they shared during the last months of her life.

A wake service will be 7 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of resurrection begins at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Saturday, July 14, 2012.
