Calvary Catholic Cemetery



Mrs. Nellie C. Kennedy, 73, 2005 W. Cherokee, died in a local hospital early Monday morning following a lengthy illness.

Born September 7, 1895 in Wichita, Kansas, she attended school and was reared in Wichita. She was married to John J. Kennedy, October 14, 1914 in Wichita. Shortly after their marriage they moved to a farm south of Ringwood where they continued to live until 1963 when they moved to Enid and had lived here since that time.

She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary, Ames.

Survivors include her husband, John J. of the home; three daughters, Mrs. G. F. (Mary Catherine) Johnson, Tampa, Florida, Mrs. D. E. (Margaret) Wallace, Wichita, Kansas, and Mrs. Ella Kennedy, Dallas, Texas; one son, Edward, Ringwood; one sister, Miss Mary Monckton, Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, T. W. Monckton, Wichita, Kansas and John P. Monckton, Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, John D. and Joseph W. Who were killed during World War I I.

Recitation of the Rosary will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday in St. Francis Xavier Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
