Funeral services for Mae Hamilton, 93, Midwest City, formerly of Enid, will be held at 2 PM Monday in the Chapel of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home. Rev. Lowell Stieferman, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Doctor Leslie G. Everitt, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

She died Friday in a Midwest City nursing home following a short illness.

Recitation of the Rosary will be conducted at 7:30 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hamilton was born March 23, 1887 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. She received her secondary education at the Catholic Convent in Guthrie.

She was married to A. Burt Hamilton in 1909 in Enid. They made their home in Enid where Mr. Hamilton was a pioneer businessman opening Garfield Cleaners in 1904. Mrs. Hamilton continued to operate the business after the death of her husband in 1920.

She also worked many years for the Enid water department.

She moved to Midwest City in 1972 to be near her family.

Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the Enid Business Women's Association, and the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the women's guild. Most recently, she was a member of the St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Midwest City.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include three sons, Major A. Burt Hamilton, Midwest City, Ward J Hamilton, Pacificland, California, and Patrick L. Hamilton, San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. William H. (Margaret Ann) Tunner, Ware Neck, Virginia; 11 grandchildren and four great – grandchildren; and a brother, Francis Pat O'Connor of Tulsa.
