A Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred Genevieve Gillock will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at St. Gre-gory the Great Catholic Church, Enid, OK. Rev. Larry Kowalski will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Enid, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born July 25, 1914, to German immigrant parents, Louis and Anna Schlecht in Okarche, OK, both deceased. She died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, in Texas.

Mildred and her husband Everett (also deceased) lived most of their lives in Enid and originally met in Arkansas City, KS where they attended high school together. Everett worked as a railroad man most of his career and they loved to travel together, trailering each year to Gunnison, CO and Palacios, TX on the Gulf Coast where they enjoyed fishing together. Mildred was a skilled seamstress and quilter and an avid gardener maintaining many beautiful flower gardens at her home.

She had two children, Phillip Gillock married to Cho and Carlene Sanchez married to Gary. Phillip has five children with Ruth and Carlene has four children. Between them there are multiple great-grandchildren in Oklahoma and Texas.

She was a charter member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and a dedicated Christian throughout her life. She learned about the need for frugality growing up in the Depression years and always managed her household and finances carefully.
