Mass of Christian Burial for Florencia Resendiz Cruz Chavez will be 11:00am Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Father Joseph Irwin will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Florencia was born March 17, 1966 to Rey and Julianna (Resendiz) Gutierrez and passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Oklahoma City.

After 22 years together, she married Florencio Chavez in 2010. Together, they had one daughter, Olivia. In October 2010, they moved to Enid from Mexico.

Florencia’s faith was essential to her as she was a dedicated member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Family was also very important. She was a strong, kind person who was always happy and loved life. She was the sweetest person ever and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Florencia is survived by her loving husband, Florencio; daughter, Olivia; five stepchildren, Emigdio, Geraldo, Jose Manuel, Aurelie and Socorro, all of Enid; 14 grandchildren, all of Enid; mother, Julianna, of Hidalgo, Mexico; sisters, Sofia and Eva, of Hidalgo; and brother, Aniseto, of Enid.

Memorial contributions can be given through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home to American Cancer Society.
