Calvary Catholic Cemetery



A Mass of Christian Burial for Sarah Marie “Sally” Burns, 81, will be noon Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Revs. Kevin Ratterman and Ernest Flusche will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be 7 p.m. tonight at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Mulhall to Thomas and Sarah Flinn Bussard and died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

She graduated from Ardmore High School and attended professional school, receiving a secretarial certificate and a nurse aid certificate from Autry Vo-Tech.

She married Gene Burns Feb. 16, 1943, in Enid. They made their home in Pond Creek, later moving to Sulphur for 20 years before moving to Enid in 1972. She worked at Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur for six years, then transferred to Enid State School where she worked for 20 years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Carol Morris of Lahoma, Deborah Barton of Moore, and Patricia Jeong of Ardmore; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, four sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Daily Bread.
