Calvary Catholic Cemetery

Varina Zaloudek
July 17, 1914 - November 14, 2014

Varina Zaloudek passed away at age 100, and a private family wake service was held Friday, November 14, 2014, in Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The eldest grandchild, Cindy Zaloudek, moved her to a Tulsa facility in early 2013 and took excellent care of her.

Varina was born July 17, 1914, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to John and Varina English and walked and rode to Oklahoma as a young girl. She married Eddie Zaloudek April 21, 1935. He died June 21, 1987.

Eddie and Varina formed a farming and ranching corporation with their two sons and lived in the Kremlin area for many years. They also maintained a large herd of sheep for more than 25 years. They moved to Enid in 1967, and she worked at Village Nook for many years and later at Plant Patch. She loved to play golf, work in her yard and tend to her houseplants and rose bushes. She also cherished the numerous quilts and dolls she made by hand.

She is predeceased by her sisters, Mary Coe Daniels of California and Charlotte Cougill of Indiana, and daughter-in-law Kay Zaloudek of Enid.

She is survived by her sons, Jack Zaloudek of Enid and Tom and Liz Zaloudek of Kremlin; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Green Country, Tulsa, with the funeral home as custodian of funds. Condolences may be made to the family at www.enidwecare.com. (Submitted by family)
