May 7, 1924 ~ Jan. 20, 2013

ENID - Mass of Christian burial for Mildred M. Nurdin, 88-year-old former Enid resident, will be 12 noon Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Rev. R.K. Mankena will officiate.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a visitation with family from 10-11 a.m. at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mildred was born May 7, 1924, in Oklahoma City to Walter T. Brothers and Helen Wilma (Gray) Brothers and died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, in Lawton, Okla.

She attended Central High School in Oklahoma City, graduating with the class of 1942.

On June 27, 1945, she married Gerald Nurdin in Oklahoma City, where the couple made their first home.

The couple moved to Ada, where she was a homemaker. In 1961, the couple settled in Enid, where she later worked as a legal secretary in a law office.

She was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She volunteered many hours at Our Daily Bread. She was a master of bridge and an avid OU fan.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Talley and husband Dennis of St. Louis, Mo.; sons, Gerald Nurdin Jr. and Steven Nurdin, both of Lawton, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Gerald; son, Thomas; and one sister, Imogene Collins.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Daily Bread.
