Jimmy "Wayne" Mitten
February 23, 1950 - August 14, 2023

Mass of Christian Burial for Wayne Mitten, 73 of Enid will be Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Miller celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Anderson-Burris.

Jimmy (Wayne) Mitten, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on August 14th 2023, at the age of 73. Jimmy, known by his family and friends as Wayne, was born on February 23, 1950 in Enid Oklahoma, to Ralph, Sr. and Rosa (Herth) Mitten. He was the youngest of 8 children. Wayne met his wife Suzie Waltz Mitten in high school and married his high school sweetheart on July 16, 1968. Suzie passed away on Sept 10, 2017.

Wayne loved to sing songs for his grandsons and tell them stories. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, loved to sing in the choir, and enjoyed being a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1044. Wayne enjoyed watching western shows on TV. Powerful in stature, he was gentle at heart. He spent his life taking care of everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Suzie; parents; sisters, Ruth Helberg, Patricia McMahan, Dorothy Coppock.

Wayne is survived by his son Raymond Mitten, daughter in law Shweta Anna Mitten and two grandsons Aiden and Aanik Mitten; daughter Katherine Miles, and her three children; brother and his wife, Ralph and Rosalie Mitten Jr; two sisters, Kathy Austin, and Lovella Fisher; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Samaritan Fund or Our Daily Bread.
