Calvary Catholic Cemetery



Mass of Christian burial for Robert E. Heimann, 72-year-old Enid resident, will be noon Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Father Kevin Ratterman will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Henninger-Hinson Chapel. Deacon Tony Crispo will lead.

Robert was born Dec. 22, 1938, in New Baden, Ill., to Emil and Gertrude (Orschell) Heimann and died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at his home. He attended and graduated from St. Gregory's Catholic School in St. Louis, Mo. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served at Camp Pendleton in San Diego. After his service, he was employed by the United States Postal Service in California before going to work for General Motors. He worked first at the plant in St. Louis before transferring to the plant in the Los Angeles area. He moved to the GM plant in Oklahoma City, from where he retired in 1992. On April 22, 1986, he married Josephine Garcia. The couple made their first home in Oklahoma City and then moved to Enid in 1992. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He loved hunting, cooking out and watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine of the home; stepdaughters, Patty Mack of Enid, Joyce Engel-Sanchez of Gardener, Kan., and Stacy Hagenbuch and husband Lyle of Lawrence, Kan.; stepson, Joseph Engel; four stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Roland Heimann and wife Jenny; sister, Dorothy Ann Slenker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Raymond Engel; stepgrandson, Noah Ray; three brothers; and one sister.
