James Rudolph Grothe
April 2, 1964 - December 20, 2021

Mass of Christian Burial for James Grothe, 57, of Enid will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Rev. Mark Mason celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be Sunday, December 26, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. in Anderson-Burris Chapel, with Deacon Tony Crispo presiding.

James was born on April 2, 1964, in Manila, Philippines, to Henry and Alejandrina Grothe and died suddenly on December 20, 2021, in Enid.

He grew up in Enid, attending St. Joseph's Catholic School, and graduated from Enid High School. James received his associate degree from Rose State College. He worked on the family hog farm and rental business. On August 10, 2010, he married Elizabeth Lobiogo in Las Vegas, and they made their home in Enid. James was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and also attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was a good husband and father to his three children.

He was preceded by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; children, Amanda, Carter and Samantha Grothe; brothers and their wives, Charles and Mary Grothe and Henry J. and Angelie Grothe; sister and husband, Angie and Greg Maurer; other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Scholarship Fund through Anderson-Burris. Condolences may be made online at www.andersonburris.com.
