John William Gnoth
August 4, 1932 - July 23, 2008

A memorial Mass for John William Gnoth, 75, of Enid, will be noon Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Rat-terman and Tony Crispo will officiate. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

He was born on Aug. 4, 1932, in South Bend, Ind., to William Henry and Ellen I. Schneck Gnoth and died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid. He graduated from Riley High School in South Bend, then served in the Air Force during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he worked for Surveyors at Vance Air Force Base as a mechanic. He then worked at Marlatt Auto Supply. He married Betty Jean Summers March 16, 1982, in Albuquerque, N.M. They lived in Enid. He began working for Southwest Truck in 1998. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Betty of the home; six children, Jan Hammock of Enid, Denise Beck of Norwich, Kan., Matt Gnoth of Garden City, Kan., Deana Thompson of Driftwood, Debra Hays of Jerome, Idaho, and Tony Ferrell of Medford; 11 grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.
