Death of G. C. Barnes

Funeral services over the remains of Grover Cleveland Barnes were conducted at the Catholic church Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock by Rev. Father G. Depreitere. Quite a number of his friends and acquaintances joined relatives of the deceassed in paying a last tribute.

The deceased passed away at the Silver City, N.M. sanitarium, where he had gone in the hope of finding relief for tuberculosis. H was formerly a member of the M and B Drug Company, selling his interest in that institution about a year and a half ago in order that he might travel for his health. Since that time he has spent several months in Texas and Colorado, returning with his family to Enid a few months ago.

Mr. Barnes was one of the successful business men of the city and together with his partner, M. M. McCord, built up one of the largest drug businesses in Enid. He was widely known in this city and community and had a host of friends.

Mr. Barnes was 29 years of age and was a native of Kentucky, coming to Enid a number of years ago.

He was married in April 1910, to Miss Grace Brady, there being one child born to this union, both the wife and child surviving. The deceased is also survived by two brothers, Dr. Barnes and one sister, Miss Opal Barnes who has been in Enid for the summer at the home of her brother, Dr Barnes.
