Wedel, 92, Enid,will be Monday August 27th, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Richard Stephens officiating. A private family burial will follow in Blackbear Cemetery, Garber under direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. The Family will receive friends Sunday August 26th 2012 from 4:00 PM until 6:00PM at the Funeral Home. She was born July 21,1920 in Goltry to John and Elvina Boese Johnson and she went to be with her Lord Thursday August 23, 2012 in Integris Bass Hospital. She was raised and educated in Goltry. On July 11,1939 she married David J. Wedel in Meno. He preceded her in death in 2003. They lived on various farms until moving to Garber in 1961. She helped with the Garber school cafeteria. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Wanzer and husband Chris of North Enid, sons, Delmar Wedel and wife Kondra of Garber, Donald Wedel of Greenwood, Arkansas, ten grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one Daughter Darlene McInturff, four Sisters and one Brother. Condolences may be made to the family online at Brown-Cummings.com |

© Anderson~Burris Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma January 2022 January 10, 1941 ~ January 5, 2022 Funeral services for Delmar Wedel, 80 of Garber, will be Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 10:00 am in Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Black Bear Cemetery, northeast of Covington. Visitation with the family present will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Delmar was born January 10, 1941 in Enid, Oklahoma to David and Vernice Johnson Wedel and died January 5, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He grew up in Garber and graduated from Garber High School. On August 22, 1960, Delmar married Kondra Baker in Enid and they made their home in Garber. He worked for Champlin and later Union Pacific as a mechanic until he retired. Delmar and Kondra moved to the farm in 1979, where they raised and raced Quarter Horses, raised cattle and was wheat farmers. He served on the Garfield Downs Board for many years. He was preceded in death by son, Rex; parents and sister, Darlene. Delmar is survived by his wife, Kondra; children, Jana [Jonathan] Warren, Reese Wedel and Rance Wedel, all of Garber; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; brother, Donald Wedel; sister, Debbie [Chris] Wanzer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Black Bear Cemetery. |

Burial will follow in Black Bear Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory. Rex was born May 29, 1963, in Enid, to Delmar Dean and Kondra K. [Baker] Wedel and passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in Enid. Rex graduated from Garber High School in 1981. Rex married Donnesia Hassler on July 24, 1990 in Enid. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office. Rex loved OU football, 80's music, spending time with his grandchildren, and farming with his dad Delmar. Rex is survived by his wife Donnesia; children Natawsha, Tyler, Chase and wife Tasha, Mason, and Dusty; his parents Delmar and Kondra Wedel; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers Reese and Rance; and sister Jana Warren and husband Jonathan, all of Garber. He was preceded in death by his first wife Markita, and his grandparents. |
