Funeral services for Claire Ellen Hoffman Allen, 58, of Garber will be at 2 PM Thursday, March 26, 1998 at the Garber First Baptist Church, with Rev. Archie Klusmeyer officiating. Burial will be at the Blackbear Cemetery under the direction of Anderson – Burris Funeral Home.

She was born on August 24, 1939, to Gilbert and Mabel Hubbert Hoffman in Tonkawa, and died Sunday, March 22, 1998 at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid. She married Sam Allen on May 28, 1956. She attended O. T. Autry Vo-Tech and graduated as an LPN in 1972. She was employed at NORCE at the time of her death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garber, and enjoyed crocheting, reading and ceramics.

She is survived by her husband, Sam, of the home; daughter Debbie and husband Bill Palmer and their children Kias and Elizabeth Claire of Garber; sons Dale and wife Cathy Allen and their children Jeffrey and Katelyn of Garber; Samuel Gilbert and wife Suk Allen and their children Diana and Samuel of Clinton, Utah; Karl and wife Carol Allen of Camden, South Carolina; her mother Mable Hoffman and sister Karen McKee, both of Bedford, Texas; her uncle Warren Hubbert of Beaver, Oklahoma; and two aunts, Eva Hanan of the Westminster, California and Hilda Heady of Chanute, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A funeral service for Samuel Richard Allen, 868, of Garber, will be at 2 PM Saturday, February 12, 2005, at the first Baptist Church in Garber with Rev. Tom LeGrand officiating. Burial will be in the Blackbear Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson – Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be this evening from 6 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home.

He was born to John L. and Frances (Kimmel) Allen on February 28, 1936 on the family farm southeast of Garber, and died Sunday, February 6, 2005, at his home on the family farm.

Sam graduated from Garber high school and then attended Oklahoma State University. On May 28, 1956, he married Claire Ellen Hoffmann in Huntsville, Arkansas. They made their home in Garber, where they farmed. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, and he served as Deacon and treasurer. He was also the chairman of the Blackbear Cemetery Board of Directors. In 1984, he was named Outstanding Farmer of the Year.

Sam is survived by one daughter, Debra Palmer and husband Bill, of Enid; three sons, Dale Allen and wife Cathy, of Garber, Samuel Gilbert Allen, of Garber, and Carl Allen and wife Carol, of Camden, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Kias Palmer of Marietta, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Claire Palmer of Enid, Jeffrey and Katelyn Allen of Garber and Diana and Sam Allen of Garber; one great grandchildt; and one brother John Allen of Enid; and two sisters, Tula Perel of Pawnee and Ruth Pommitt of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his wife Claire in 1998.
