Karen Ann (Gragg) Bittman, 62 year old Shattuck, OK resident, passed from this life on January 8, 2016 at her home, with family at her side. Karen was born May 18, 1953 in Durant, OK to Lora and Jessie Gragg. Karen graduated from Hartshorne High School and continued her education at Midwest Christian College before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Business from the University of Oklahoma in 1976.

On March 6, 1983 Karen married Dennis Bittman in Taos, New Mexico. This union was blessed with two children, son, Dean and daughter, Jill. The family made their home north of Shattuck, OK.

Karen was able to use her education and worked in Health Care Administration. She was employed by Newman Memorial for many years and built life long relationships with many colleagues. Karen enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with family. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi and Ambucs.

Karen was baptized at the age of eight at the Haileyville Christian Church and was a member of the Shattuck Church of the Nazarene. She served on the Church Board, as a Sunday School Teacher, was the Bible Quiz Coach and worked faithfully during Vacation Bible School.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Lora Gragg, sister, Susan Williamson, niece, Gail Gragg, nephew, Kevin Jacoby, father-in-law, Herbert Bittman, and brother-in-law, Sam Jacoby.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Bittman of the home in Shattuck, OK; son Dean Bittman of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter Jill Bittman of Shattuck, OK; mother, Jessie Gragg of Hartshorne, OK; brothers, George Gragg of Hartshorne, OK, Glenn Gragg of Collinsville, OK, and Allen Gragg and wife Cathy of Dow, OK; sisters, Paula Gragg of Hartshorne, OK, and Lesia Gragg and Joy Gragg both of North Richland Hills, TX; mother-in-law, Lora Bittman of Shattuck, OK; sisters-in-law, Sandra Nondorf and husband Jim of Oklahoma City, OK and Willa Dean Jacoby of Shattuck, OK; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
