Martha, the daughter of George and Anna Marie (Baum) Batt was born Jan 3, 1892 in Marion Co., KS. She died July 2, 1920 in Shattuck, OK. Martha Batt married Alexander W. Meier on Sept. 20, 1913 in Havelock, NE where he was working on the railroad. Their first daughter, Irene, was born in Havelock, NE. They moved back to Shattuck, OK where their second daughter, Esther was born.

She is survived by her husband, Alex and two daughters age 3 & 5 years old; her father Georg Batt; three sisters: Charlotte “Lottie” Schick, Magdelena “Lena” Pendergraft, and Hilda Porter. She was predeceased by her mother Annie Marie (Baum) Batt in 1895.

She is buried in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery aka St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, 2 miles so. of Shattuck Cemetery, 2 miles west, and 1/4 south on east side of road.
