Claude "Grit" Harrell

February 9, 1914 ~ July 7, 1999

Shattuck – The funeral for Claude Grit Harrell, 85, will be 2 PM Sunday at Good Samaritan Chapel. The Rev. Elmer Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Gage Memorial Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion post #223 of Gage.

He was born February 9, 1914, at Shattuck to Creed and Alice Clark Harrell and died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck.

He attended school at Follett, Texas. He enlisted in the Army and served during World War II. After the war he returned to Follett where he was engaged in farming, later moving to Gage. In 1992 he moved to Shattuck Nursing Center. He attended the Methodist Church.

Surviving are three brothers, Ola Ray Harrell and Max Harrell of Miller, South Dakota, Norval Harrell of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Audrey Reger of Follett and Erma Hunter, Oklahoma City; and special friend, Bob Brown of Shattuck.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.
