FRED SCHICK

Born July 26, 1882 in Marion Co., KS
Died July 15, 1944 in Shattuck, Ellis Co., OK

Fred married Mary Hagen. They lived on school land, owned by his parents Frederick and Susanna (Brunner) Schick, one mile south of the homestead. Later they moved to Texas, then returned and lived with his parents on the homestead. Fred and Mary had four children: Daniel, Bill, Bertha, and Leah. Mary died of influenza in 1918.

In 1919, Fred and his deceased brother's wife, Lottie were married in order to keep the families together. Fred and Lottie had three children: Rollen, Irene, and Esther. Fred was killed in 1944 in a tractor accident. Lottie moved to town in 1957.

He is buried in Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery aka German Baptist Cemetery Sec. 22 Twp 20 R 26 which is 5 miles south of Shattuck, 4 miles west and 1/2 mile south.
