LARRY GENE VANDERSLICE

Woodward – The funeral for Larry Gene Vanderslice, 62, will be 10 AM Monday in Garden Chapel of Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service. Bennie Watkins and Fred Morris will preside. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.

He was born March 24, 1941, in Woodward to Gene and Sylvia Hall Vanderslice and died Friday, January 2, 2004, at Woodward Regional Hospital.

He graduated from Woodward high school in 1960. On December 28, 1959, he married Lawanna Rose Upchurch. They lived in Woodward before moving to Vici. He was a machine shop lathe operator and an oilfield machinist. He had worked for Leon Boggs Mobile, Razien Metals for 18 years, Drillers Inc., Weatherford International, Hendershot Toots and Tri-State Machine and Supply. He was a member of Church of the First Born.

Surviving are two daughters, Lagena Bobbitt and Leah Loucks, both of Woodward; his father, Gene Vanderslice of Woodward; one sister, Patsy Scovel of Buffalo; three brothers, Ronnie of Fargo, Roger of Milliken, Colorado, and Gary of Casper, Wyoming; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother in 1994 and one sister.
