Duane W. Salisbury, 85 year old resident of Edmond, OK, passed from this life on September 2, 2020. Duane was born August 1, 1935 to Wilbur and Lillian (Starr) Salisbury in Rose Hill, Iowa. He lived in Chino California from 1935-1944 where he attended grade school. The family moved to Sharon, OK in 1944 and Duane attended Sharon Schools graduating with the class of 1953. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He honorably served from 1954 to 1958 and achieved the rank of Staff Sargent. While in the air force Duane lived in Amarillo, TX and Wichita, KS.

In 1955 Duane married Vickie (Tucker) Salisbury in Albuquerque, NM. To this union five children were born Douglas Eugene, Joyce, Jeff, Jay and Jaimie. Duane and Vickie lived in Amarillo, TX, Sharon, OK, Enid, OK. Kremlin, OK, Eads, CO and finally Edmond, OK. He worked as a tire salesman, farmer, rancher, and horse trainer. Duane enjoyed horse racing and tractors. He was a member of the Elks Club, Woodward Dance Club and Horsemen???s committee.

He is preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Lillian Salisbury, sons Douglas Salisbury and Jay Salisbury, sister Martha Coldwell, brothers in law Harold Kennedy, Neil Ainsworth, and Hap Nelson, and niece Darcie Ainsworth.

He is survived by his wife of the home Vickie Salisbury, daughter Joyce Salisbury of Edmond, OK; sons Jeff Salisbury of Ends, CO and Jamie Salisbury of Hudson , CO; sisters Twyla Kennedy of Sharon, OK, Carol Nelson of Lexington, NE, and Marge Ainsworth of Port Huron, MI; one aunt Bernadine Rhea of Edmond, OK; one uncle Hop Salisbury of Woodward, OK; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
