Florence Louise (Hogle) McCoy, 93 year old resident of Vici, OK, passed from this life on February 18, 2016 in Woodward, OK. Florence was born on February 12, 1923 to Edwin and Edna (Whitby) Hogle on their homestead in Vici, OK. She grew up on the homestead and attended Vici Public schools graduating as Valedictorian in her class of 1936. She later attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Education.

In 1965 Florence married Carrol McCoy were they resided in Gage, OK, Arnett, OK, and finally moved to their home farm in Vici, OK. Florence had many occupations which included being a book keeper at the Ford dealer, Hardware Store, and Coop in Vici. She also worked as a teacher and a minister’s wife.

Florence had many hobbies which included teaching and she loved talking about education with others and learning about the changes in teaching. She also enjoyed reading, and sewing. She loved to be outdoors and always loved to look and admire the trees and wildlife. Florence was a member of the Christian Church and attended the First Christian Church in Camargo, OK. Florence loved to visit. She enjoyed her daily phone visits with Verla and numerous other friends kept in close contact by phone.

Florence cherished the kind acts of LaDonna, Victor, Beverly, and numerous other friends. Although she never had any children of her own she verbally adopted many as her children and cared for them as her own. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Edna Hogle and her sister Alene Jewel Hogle.

She is survived by her adopted children and longtime friends Tom and LaRay Carman of Camargo, OK, 3 nephews, 3 nieces and many other verbally adopted children and friends.
