November 7, 1920 ~ November 14, 2013

Funeral services for Millage E. “John” Baker, 93, of rural Fay, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Oakwood Auditorium in Oakwood, OK with Reverend Clyde Irving officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

Millage E. Baker was born on November 7, 1920 in Nobscot, OK to Raymond Blanche and Mary Marie (McMurry) Baker. He passed away at his home in Fay, OK on November 14, 2013. Millage graduated from Oakwood High School in 1940 and married Lola Mae Williams on March 10, 1945 at Arapaho, OK. He served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a carpenter, farmer, custodian and bus driver at Oakwood and Taloga. He enjoyed gardening, raising cattle and farming.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Lola Mae Baker; one brother R. L. Baker; two sisters Marlie Hawk and Arvella Cline; Survivors include his eight children, daughter Linda Antrim of Tuttle, OK, son Jimmy Baker of Fay, OK, son Terry Baker of OK, Mike Baker of Dill City, OK, daughter Rosie Simmons of Elk City, OK, son Joe Baker of Fay, OK, daughter Lisa Weber of Watonga, OK and son Jeffery Baker of Fay, OK; one brother, Clifford “Snip” Baker of Fay, OK, three sisters, Naomi Anson of Oakwood, OK, Lahoma Beckloff of Oakwood, OK and Mable Loveless of Tuttle, OK; twenty three grandchildren; forty three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; Memorials may be made to any veterans organization in Millage's memory.
