Melody R. (Anson) Jones

The funeral for Melody R. Jones, 44, of Woodward, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Elm Grove Community Church. The Rev. Orville White will officiate. Burial will be in Little Robe Cemetery, southeast of Seiling. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.

She was born Sept. 5, 1962, in Fairview and died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at her home.

She attended kindergarten in Colorado Springs, Colo., and moved to Carmen with her family where she attended Carmen and Cleo Springs elementary schools. She moved to the Oakwood community where she attended Taloga school, graduating with the class of 1980.

She married Paul Jones May 23, 1980, in Seiling. They made their home in Chester and Seiling. She worked at the Seiling Nursing Center as a certified nurse aide and a cook in the dietary department. She later moved to Tulsa where she worked for Avis Rentals and attended Oral Roberts University.

Surviving are her mother, Charlotte Anson of Canton; one daughter, Jenny Jones of Seiling; two sons, Joe Jones and James Jones, both of Chester; one sister, Patty Widney of Oakwood; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Dean Anson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for diabetes research.
