Doyle Lavern Hart

Aug. 12, 1922 ~ July 16, 2008

Graveside service for Doyle Lavern Hart, 85, of Watonga, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008, in Evergreen Cemetery, outside of Oakwood. The Rev. Richard Vermillion will officiate. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Mortuary, Watonga.

He was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Little Robe Township to Doyle and Viola Hart and died Wednesday, July 16, 2008.

He graduated from Con 6 schools and joined the Army in 1942, serving in Japan and the Philippine Liberation during World War II. He was discharged in 1946.

He had been a resident of the Oakwood community for 60 years, where he owned and operated an oil company and a gas station/grocery store in Oakwood. They later moved to Canton, living there for six years, dispatching for the Canton Police Department.

He married Rose Ella Montgomery Aug. 26, 1946, in Wellington, Kan.

Surviving are one son, Monte Hart of Marlow; two daughters, Holly Grabow of Omega and Muriel Trumbley of Watonga; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, one brother and a sister.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
