Steve L. Hedrick

November 01, 1956 ~ May 30, 1980

Chester – A service for Steve L. Hedrick, 23, will be held at 2 PM Monday in Seiling United Methodist Church. Pastors Orville White and Jim Hestwood officiate.

Burial will be in Brumfield Cemetery, Seiling, under the direction of Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.

Hedrick died suddenly Friday night while jogging on the Seiling high school track.

Born on November 1, 1956, at Woodward, he had lived his entire life in the Chester area of Major County.

He attended grade school at Chester and in 1975 graduated from Seiling high school, where he participated in football, baseball and other sports.

He attended Boys State and later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford.

He spent two years as an oilfield roughneck with Trigg Drilling Company in the Seiling area.

For the past year, he had worked with his father and brother in farming and ranching.

He was a member of United Methodist Church, Seiling.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Hedrick, Chester; one sister, Renéa, Chester; one brother, Mickey, Chester; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Susie Hedrick, Chester, and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ora Edwards, Seiling.

He was preceded in death by one brother, a sister and both grandfathers.

Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church, the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
