PAUL GENE DUKE, son of Ivan Yuel and Marie (Mayfield) Duke, was born June 25, 1932 on the Duke family farm southeast of Seiling, OK. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid at age 80.

He was raised near Seiling where he attended all twelve years of his formal education. He graduated from Seiling High School with the class of 1952. He entered the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to Texas where he worked for Halliburton and began working in the oilfields as a roughneck. He married Peggy Posey in Texas and they had one daughter, Julie. Later, he returned to Seiling where he farmed and continued doing oilfield work. He married Marilyn Jane Threlkeld in March 1965 at Woodward. They had two sons, Paul Jeffrey and Tucker Jim. Paul enjoyed his children and grandchildren and he liked watching all different types of sports on television.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Smith of Texas, two sons, Jeff Duke of Ft. Supply and Tucker Duke and wife Stacy of Seiling, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, one sister, LaVere Cash of Cherokee and two brothers, Hershel Duke and wife Neta of Yukon and Chuck Duke and wife Jackie of Amarillo, TX, as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Feb 8, 2012 at the Brumfield Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Adair, officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Seiling Fire Department with Redinger Funeral Home-Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663, serving as custodian of the funds
