ENID — Leland B. Cook, son of Clyde and Wilma (Bryant) Cook, was born March 19,1936 at Shattuck, OK. He departed this life on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He was 74 years of age.

Leland was raised in the Seiling community and attended the Richmond School in Woodward County. He was united in marriage to Shirley Nadine White, May 1, 1954, at Cestos, OK. They had one daughter, Teresa. Leland entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1966 after serving his country 12 years. In 1973, he moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he opened Aerospace Speciality Company as a government contractor, manufacturing aircraft and space shuttle parts, which he owned and operated until retirement.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Bowman, and husband Johnny of Argyle, Texas; Teresa's mother and his friend, Shirley Hughes of North Richland Hills, Texas; three grandsons, Billy Bowman and wife Whitney, Brent Bowman and Ben Bowman, all of Argyle, Texas; two sisters, Carol Burns and husband Norman of Woodward, Shirley Ritterhouse and husband Keith of Parker, Colo.; one brother, Don Cook and wife Jeanette of Denison, Texas, companion and friend Tressie Kimball, plus many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Sander officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Brumfield Cemetery . Condolence messages can be sent to the family at www.redingerfuneralhome.com.
