FERN LUCILLE ADAIR

6 Sep 1910 - 18 Aug 1988

Services for Fern Lucille (Betty) Adair, 77, who died Thursday, August 18, will be at 10 AM Saturday at the Brookside Baptist Church, Tulsa. The Reverend Phillip P. Johnston will officiate. Burial will be at 4 PM Saturday in Brumfield Cemetery, Seiling, Oklahoma. Mrs. Adair will lie in state at the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home until early Saturday morning.

She was born September 6, 1910, at Houston, Missouri, where she graduated from high school in 1928. She attended Wichita Commercial College and Wichita Conservatory Music in Wichita, Kansas. She married S. R. (Bob) Adair in Seiling, Oklahoma. They established their home in Altus, Oklahoma, and owned a retail clothing store. She was past worthy matron of the Eastern Star before moving to Tulsa in 1956. She owned Betty's Playmate Nursery in Tulsa from 1958 through 1979. She was a member of Brookside Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda, wife of E. Ray Downs, Enid, and Marita, wife of James Hidalgo, Wimberley, Texas, granddaughter, Robin Downs, Overland Park, Kansas, and two brothers, Howard Rhea, Tulsa, and James Rhea of Estacada,; she was preceded in death by her husband Bob; brother, Lawrence and parents Callie Hilderbrand Rhea and John Rhea.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Division, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

Henninger – Allen Funeral Home, 601 W. Broadway, Enid, OK 73702, will serve as custodian of the fund.
