Sheridan "Shug" Jean Chunestudey

Sheridan “Shug” Jean Chunestudey, age 70, died on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma.

Shug was born on August 22, 1941 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Sam and Wilora Mae (Scuggins) Ben. She was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church, Shug enjoyed going to yard sales, sewing, cooking, baking and loved her grandchildren. Shug worked at Tyson poultry plant as a supply manager for 34 years. She married Ralph Chunestudey on January 5, 1962 in Miami, OK; they celebrated 50 years of marriage earlier this year.

Shug was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Betty Frazier, and infant son Ivan. She is survived by her husband Ralph Chunestudey, three sons Brad Chunestudey, Bobby Chunestudey and Gordon Chunestudey, one daughter Pamela Robinson and her husband John. She was blessed with three grandchildren; Whitney Youngpuppy (Jesse), Kyle Bacon (Ashley) and Tyler Bacon (Chelsea); and three great-grandchildren Riley Bacon, Ty Madden Bacon and Jordan Youngpuppy, special great niece Lainee Gallardo. She is also survived by her brothers, Reuben Harry and Sam Ben, Jr. and a sister Claudia Budder, and many other loving family members.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Jay, Oklahoma with Pastor Larry Pritchett and Pastor Steve Cambell officiating. Shug will be laid to rest in the Round Springs Cemetery in Eucha, Oklahoma. Friends and family may leave online condolences by viewing Shug’s obituary at www.honoringmemories.com. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma.
