Donna Francine “Bee” Soles was born on June 13, 1960, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Audrey Lee Foreman and Louisa (Downing) Foreman-Soap. She passed from this life on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at the age of 64 years, 11 months, and 5 days.
Bee was raised in the Oaks, Oklahoma area and attended Oaks Mission School through the eighth grade. She graduated with the Class of 1978 from Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah, and later attended Northeastern State University. Throughout her life, Bee held several jobs, including positions at McKee Foods (Little Debbie’s) in Springdale, Arkansas, as well as at Syroco, a plastic chair and table manufacturer. Her last job was as a blackjack dealer at the Choctaw Casino in Idabel, Oklahoma.
A woman of faith and culture, Bee was a member of Snake Creek Baptist Church near Locust Grove, Oklahoma, as well as a member of the Old Saline Cherokee Association. She had a deep love for the outdoors, spending countless hours tending to her flower beds, which were always filled with vibrant blooms. She also enjoyed fishing, beadwork, and creating Cherokee-inspired drawings, crafts, and artwork.
Bee was known for her strong will, feisty spirit, and giving heart. She was generous to a fault, always ready to lend a hand or give a gift—often even her last penny. She especially loved blessing the ladies at her church with thoughtful gifts and was a cherished second mom to her many nieces and nephews. Her vibrant personality, creativity, and selflessness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Bee is survived by: 3 brothers: Sonny Foreman of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Shorty Foreman and wife Nancy of Coffeyville, Kansas, and David Eugene Foreman of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Deanna “Sissy” Crosby and husband Ronald of Durant, Oklahoma; 1 close and special friend: Eva Foreman of Kansas, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by: father; maternal grandparents: Joe and Hattie Downing; paternal grandparents: Ruben and Nannie Foreman; 1 son: Devon Jordon Soles; 1 brother: Douglas Wayne Foreman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Snake Creek Baptist Church near Locust Grove, Oklahoma, with Reverend Venus Hilderbrand and Reverend Josh Galcatcher officiating. Bee will be laid to rest at Oaks Cemetery near Oaks, Oklahoma. Services are entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home.
