Harvey George Goforth, 85-year-old Cleora resident (Crace Shores), passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 30, 1940, in Ada, Oklahoma to Harvey G. Goforth and Fannie (Arnold) Goforth. Harvey attended school in Wichita, Kansas at North High School where he was a member of the gymnastics team, before serving his country in the United States Navy, during Vietnam. After his service with the Navy, he returned home and began working for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, for approximately 37 years. He lived in Haysville, Kansas while working in Wichita, and was a member of the Mulvane American Legion Post #136. He was also a member of the Mulvane Volunteer Fire Department and served as their Chief. Harvey and his wife Linda moved to Grand Lake around 25 years ago, where he enjoyed fishing and living on the Lake. He also served as head of the Homeowners Association and enjoyed helping many people in the area. Harvey loved the outdoors, and will me missed by his neighbors, friends, and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Linda in February of 2019, and a sister, Linda Danielson in November of 2007.
The family includes his children, Harvey Goforth, Jr. and wife Renea of Mulvane, Kansas, Tracy McCay and husband Jimmy “Justin” of LaVeta, Colorado; brother, Joe Goforth and wife Terri of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Jane Hampton of Towanda, Kansas; grandchildren, Brandon Frazier, Marena Assarsson, Courtney Risenhoover, Samantha Stonecipher, Ashley Baer, Cavin McCay; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; relatives and many friends.
The graveside service and military honors will be held on July 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the McLaughlin Cemetery in Cleora.
