Vonnie Mae Brewster was born on June 4, 1923 to W.R. and Vinnie (Howard) Gifford in Shamrock, Oklahoma. She departed this life on November 26, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, in Pryor, Oklahoma.
Vonnie was a lifetime resident of Pryor. After high school, she married Bill Brewster and from their union came five children. Vonnie worked in the home and was a devoted wife and mother. She also loved taking care of people. She was very active in the First Baptist Church of Pryor and had attended there since she was nine years old; church was very important to her.
Vonnie enjoyed gardening, reading and crochet. More than anything, she loved her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were most important to her. She was always there for them if they needed her. Vonnie was a wonderful lady and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by three children, Carolyn Joyce Stancroff and husband Allen of Ravenna, Michigan, Brenda Jane Phillips and husband Shawn of Pryor and Connie Sue Brown and husband Ray of Tulsa; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her first husband and father to her children, Bill Brewster; two children, Beverly Jean Edwards and Robert Leroy Brewster; one sister, Loie Rizley; four brothers, James R. Gifford. Ira Gifford, Glen Gifford and Howard Gifford and two grandchildren, William Robert Brown and Bradley Wayne Brown.
