Gary L. Owens passed from this life on January 1, 2013, at the age of 68. Gary was born on November 10, 1944 to Bechard Owens and Betty Lennox in Gentry, Arkansas.

Mr. Owens had a Master’s Degree, graduated and retired from the University of Arkansas. Gary married Sandy Lee Whitson on November 1, 2003 in Grove, OK. Mr. Owens loved to fish, tinker and ride his motorcycle, garden, (loved to grow his cucumbers), former member of the Moose Lodge, but especially Gary loved his family and was always found playing with the kids and eating.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Sandy of the home in Eucha, One son: Jeremy Foreman and wife April of Grove, one daughter: TaShina Rodgers and husband Scott also of Grove, three sisters: Sue Keene and husband Robert of West Fork, Arkansas, Betty Painter and husband Dean of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Willetta Reynolds and husband Shorty of Greenland, Arkansas. Gary is also survived by four grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2013, 6-8pm at Grand Lake Funeral Home in Jay. Services are scheduled for Friday, 2:00 p.m., January 4, 2013 at the Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Jay, with interment to follow at Jumper Cemetery.

Officiating the service will be Revered Clifford Loftis, serving as active pallbearers are Jeff Taylor, Jason Glover, Joe Dummitt, Ronnie Wiese, Larry Keener and Chavis Mercado. Honorary Bearers are Jeremy Foreman, Rex Archer, Scott Rodgers Jr., Scott Rodgers Sr., Virgil Glover, Bill Bowline, Leonard Jumper and Dale Eberle.

Thursday January 3, 2013, 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Grand Lake Funeral Home in Jay, OK
