John Lewis Marble was born July 23, 1927 in Pryor to Lewis and Maggie (Taylor) Marble. He departed this life on December 12, 2012 in Salina at the age of 85 years 4 months and 19 days.

John had been a lifetime resident of Salina. He attended school in Salina and his family’s homestead is what is now known as “Blue Hole”. John loved to ride and raise horses. He was a team roper and broke horses for a living. John was a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #329. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army. John loved telling stories from anything work related to life experiences. Spending time with his family was what made him the happiest, especially with his grand babies and he had nicknames for all of them.

John is survived by son Jerry Marble and wife Karen of Salina, son John "Tuffy" Marble, Jr. and wife Katrina of Jay, two step-sons Jack Woods and wife Marge White of Kenwood and David Hair of Kenwood, 13 grandchildren including Kent Marble, who John help raised, 25 great grandchildren, one sister Nora Dyer of Santa Margarita, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Mary Folmar and brother Ray Kenneth Marble, sister May Hesser, sister Hazel Lewis March, sister Pina Marie Skabialka, brother Fred Marble and sister Stella Marble, and one great grandson.
