Betty Jean (Wolfe) Agnes

Betty Jean Agnes, Jay area resident, died Sunday evening at Monroe Manor in Jay, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years. She was born August 14, 1943 in Kenwood, Oklahoma to her parents, Jim and Virginia (Ross) Wolfe. Betty graduated Sequoyah Indian School and later worked as a medical records transcriber. She was known as ‘Alise’ or ‘Mom’. Betty absolutely adored her grandchildren, and taught her children and grandchildren the Cherokee way as much as she could. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Elizabeth. Betty is survived by her son, Joseph; daughters, Isabell and Michelle; brother, Richard D. Wolfe; sisters, Edna Cochran, Annie Wolfe, and Carrie Heckman; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as many other loving family members.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM -8:00 PM Thursday at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

Casket bearers will be Joe Agnes, Jr., Owen Wofford, Charlie Wofford, Chad Wofford, Jesse Budds, Dennis Weeks, Sonny Wofford, and Phillip Wolfe.

Funeral Services will be Friday 2:00 PM at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, with Brother Richard Soldier officiating. Interment will follow at Euwasha Cemetery in Kenwood, Oklahoma.
