The graveside service for Letta Jo Simon, a 94 years-old Enid resident will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, Oklahoma under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Yoder will officiate.
Letta was born on June 13, 1930, in Taloga, Oklahoma to Clyde and Opal (Coyle) Hamar and passed on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in the Commons in Enid, Oklahoma. She attended local schools and graduated High School with the class of 1947. On June 7, 1947, she married Jack Vickers. The couple moved to Enid from Kingfisher in the late sixties. Letta was an LPN and worked in the medical field for many years.
Letta was a religious woman and enjoyed attending many churches over the years. She loved to cook and host big family dinners in her home. She also enjoyed singing and playing the piano, gardening, crocheting, and painting. But mostly, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Clyde Vickers and wife Kathy, Rick Vickers and wife Connie, and Terry Vickers, her daughter, Sherri Curtis, 8 grandchildren: Jennifer, Stevie, Courtney, Heather, Matt, Jeff, Ryan, and Lacey, 7 great-grandchildren: Chase, Zoey, Allie, April, Dominic, Mason, Sadie, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Eva, two brothers, Orville and Paul, one son-in law, Lee Curtis and great-granddaughter Samantha Howell.
