James Wiley Britton was born June 5, 1945 at Elk City, Oklahoma. He was the fourth child of William Olen and Lula Mae Twyamn Britton.

He passed away on July 16, 2000 in Oklahoma City at the age of 55.

Jim grew up on the family farm at Moorewood and attended grade school and high school at Leedey, Oklahoma, graduating in 1963. He attended college at Oklahoma State University and finished his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in accounting.

He then worked in Tucumcari, New Mexico as an accountant.

Jim and Ann Johnson were married in 1970, after which he adopted Ann's son Cory and one daughter, Kristy Gail, was born to this union.

Jim moved back to western Oklahoma where he resided until his death. After returning to Oklahoma, he worked as an accountant and in later years enjoyed driving a truck for Zoschke pipe and Steel of Thomas, Oklahoma.

On November 5, 1999, he married Jan Roberts, his friend of several years and they made their home in Arapaho.

Hobbies he enjoyed were working with old cars and attending car shows and rodeos.

Jim's children, stepchildren and grandchildren all brought much joy into his life.

Jim accepted Christ at the early age of twelve at the Moorewood Missionary Baptist Church, where he became a member on January 13, 1957.

He was preceded in death by his father, Olen Britton; and one niece DeAnn Mauk.

Jim is survived by his wife Jan of the home; one son, Cory Britton and wife Christina; grandchildren Dakota and Conagher; one daughter, Kristy Britton, all of Garden City, Kansas; Tommy Green and wife Dianne and son Joshua of Pharr, Texas; Brian and Evert Green and wife Dianne and son Joshua both of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Diana Dobbs and husband Tom and children Misty Brittany and Andrew of Cordell, Oklahoma; and Robin Roberts of the home. Also surviving are his mother Lula Mae Britton of Leedey, Oklahoma; three brothers and their wives, Glen and Jean Britton; and John and Darla Britton; all of Leedey, Oklahoma; and Bill and Lou Alice Britton of Searcy, Arkansas; two sisters, Mary and husband Mackie Adams of Tyler, Texas; and Barbara Brown of Norman, Oklahoma. Jim will also be missed by is surviving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.

Burial in Moorewood Cemetery, Moorewood, Oklahoma, Custer County.
