Clora Williams, age 79 of Clinton, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at the Methodist Health Care Center, Clinton, Oklahoma. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Kiesau Memorial Chapel. Doyle Kinney officiated the services. Interment was held in the Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, Custer County, Oklahoma. Arrangements were under the direction of Kiesau Marler Funeral Home, Clinton, Oklahoma.

Clora was born on September 1, 1923 in Osceola to Alva and Laura price Splawn. She grew up in the Oscola and Center Point area. Clora attended Center Point school. As a young woman, she was admired for abilities in athletics, cotton pulling and farm works. She married Louis Williams on July 19, 1941 at the Arapaho Methodist Parsonage, Clora was known by her neighbors as the Coughnut Maker. All the neighbors enjoyed eating the warm doughnuts prepared by Clora. She sold Studio Girl Cosmetics for many years. Clora was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Ray, Oklahoma, she was an avid golfer and past member of the Riverside Ladies Golf Association. Clora was an accomplished square dancer and past member of the Hub City Square Dancers.

Clora is survived by her husband, Louis Williams of the home; son, Alvin Williams and wife, Robin of Clinton, grandchildren: Mark Williams and wife, Rhonda of Clinton, Cathy McDowell and husband, Ron of Clinton, Nickie Woods and Luke Woods of Clinton, great grandchildren; September Garcia and husband, Juan, Dustin Williams, Jessica, Nina and Gabby McDowell, step-brother, Bill Williams; nieces; Vera Ladd, Ovad Merrill, Alfreda Johanna Amway, Rena Vowell and Donna Clark and their husbands.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Spalwn;p sister, Abby Pridemore, daughter-in-law; Patsy Williams, step-father; Joe Williams, three step-brothers and one step-sister.
