Wilma Faye (Wilson) White
April 28, 1925 ~ July 18, 2019 (age 94)

Wilma Faye White was born April 28, 1925 in Canute, Oklahoma to Ester (Williams) Wilson and William Arvel Wilson. She passed away July 18, 2019 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 20 days.

Faye grew up in the Prairie View community and graduated from Canute High School. She worked on the farm for her dad until she married her best friend, Leonard (L.D.) Davis White, on January 28, 1950 in Clinton, Oklahoma. They lived in Clinton for four months until her father became ill. They moved back to the house she was raised in and remained there until she moved to Elk City in 2016 after living in the same house for 91 years. L.D. passed away in 2007.

Her hobbies included crocheting and embroidering.

She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Marie Edwards and Minnie Ballew.

She is survived by 5 nephews and 1 niece and a huge extended family of great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019, 11:00 AM at Butler First Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday, July 22 at Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday at the Butler First Baptist from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will be in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City.
