Billy Don Teter was born on June 13, 1961 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Billy Ray Teter & Iva May (Parson) Teter. He passed away peacefully at his residence with his loving wife by his side on September 22, 2025 at the age of 64 years, 3 months, & 9 days. Billy Don grew up with a deep sense of family, faith, and community that carried him throughout his life. He was a 1980 graduate of Drumright High School & even before he finished school, he began serving his community as a volunteer firefighter and dispatcher with the Drumright Fire Department. His dedication and leadership later led him to the role of Assistant Fire Chief, which he served with honor. At the same time, he worked for D&D Electric and was an active member of the Tri-County Drug Task Force.
He went on to build a successful career in the pipeline industry, where his strong work ethic and reliability was evident. He spent many years with Plains All American Pipeline & contributed to major projects including the Alberta Clipper and his role as senior Safety Inspector on the Kalamazoo River oil spill. Colleagues remember him for his steady leadership, dependable presence, and willingness to step in wherever he was needed. Also not only for his accomplishments and hard work, but for the way he lived: with laughter, devotion, and a deep love for those closest to him. He was a man who found joy in the simpler things in life, who never took his family for granted, and who lived fully and faithfully until the end.
On November 27, 2009 in Stroud, Oklahoma he married the love of his life, Jamie Lee Roberts. Their marriage was filled with laughter, devotion, and mutual respect. To Billy Don, Jamie was not only his wife but also his closest companion; his source of strength, and the one who stood beside him through every season of life. Together, they built a home centered on love, faith, and family.
Of all his roles in life, being a husband, father, and grandfather brought him the greatest joy. He treasured every moment with his grandchildren; whether cheering them on, teaching them, or simply enjoying their company. Some of his fondest memories together were their adventures at the lake, where he shared his love of fishing, exploring, and turning every outing into an adventure. He loved taking them out on the golf cart, transforming each ride into a journey filled with laughter and discovery. His grandchildren will always remember their "Gramps" for the joy, love, and adventures he gave them. The sparkle of the lake and the winding trails of the ranch will always carry his memory and the love and laughter of his smile.
Billy Don was a man of strong faith and conviction. He was a proud member of the Drumright Masonic Lodge #468 A.F. & A.M., a 32nd Degree Mason in the Tulsa Scottish Rite, a member of AKDAR Shrine in Tulsa and president of the AKDAR Park Turtle Beach RC Race Team. He was truly living out the values of service, integrity, and brotherhood these organizations represent. He was happiest when surrounded by his family; whether gathered for a meal, enjoying the outdoors, or sharing one of his many hobbies including fishing, hunting, and racing RC cars. His playful spirit, quick wit, and easy going smile made him a joy to be around. His generosity of heart touched many lives. He was preceded in death by his FATHER: Bill Teter; his MOTHER: Iva Mae Ray; a SISTER: Cindi Teter; a BROTHER: Randy Teter; and a GREAT NEPHEW: Tyler Dean Teter-Chilton.
He is survived by his loving WIFE: Jamie Teter of the home; DAUGHTER: Melanie Merchberger & husband Jeff; 2 GRANDCHILDREN: Avery & Colton; 2 BROTHERS: Terry Wayne Teter of Drumright & Rodney Teter of Welling; PLUS numerous Nieces, Nephew, Cousins, and other relatives and friends.
