Robert Wayne Halstead

Robert Wayne Halstead was born in Sioux City, Iowa on July 21, 1951 to Daniel T. Halstead & Deloris J. (McLaud) Halstead. He passed from this life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 9, 2023 at the age of 71 years, 8 months, and 19 days.

Robert was raised & educated in Iowa and was a graduate of Iowa State College. He Joined the United States Marine Corp in 1970, served in Indochina, Korea, & Vietnam. He was discharged in 1975 & then joined the United States Army, serving until 1978. His final tour of duty was in the Army National Guard of Iowa where he served until 1986. Following his military career, he worked in Washington D.C. in the State Department. He eventually moved to Oklahoma City, worked as a machinist for Dayton Tire Company until his retirement.

He married Patricia A. (Mead) Treadway on December 14, 1994 & they made their home in Oklahoma City. Robert had graduated from Southern Nazarene University & was very active in the American Legion, Oklahoma City Post # 213 & Bethany-Warr Acres Post #12.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife: Pat Treadway; Children: Mike Treadway : Scott : Johnny : Tammy - & Kenny Ponder; & a Great Grandson: Gavin Ponder.

His remaining family includes his Son: Jimmy Ponder & wife Betty of Oilton; 17 Grandchildren : Numerous Great Grandchildren; & SEVERAL other relatives - & friends.
