William Perry McAlister

mcalister-w-p

August 19, 1948 ~ April 16, 2023

William Perry McAlister died Sunday, April 16, in Oklahoma City at the age of 74. At the time of his death, he was surrounded by his loving family on earth and ushered gently into the arms of his Heavenly Father, whom he no doubt greeted with his trademark smile and endearing wit.

Perry, as he was called by all who were blessed to know him, was born August 19, 1948, in Oklahoma City to parents John Doyle and JoDeBob McAlister.

He met his future wife, Julia Louise Robinson at a high school football game in Sapulpa. They married on August 14, 1970, and soon welcomed two daughters, Kim and Kari. Perry and Julia were married for 32 years before Julia's passing on December 20, 2002.

Perry was devoted to Julia throughout their lives together but especially during the illness that would take her life. This kindness was repaid to Perry during his own illness, as Kari and Kim worked alongside his current wife, Susan, to lovingly and tenaciously care for Perry until his passing.

Perry and Susan (Eguren) Nichols were married on November 21, 2010 and spent 12 wonderful years together. They resided in Edmond and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

Perry's 43-year career as a Landman in the oil and gas industry took him to several states, namely Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. He was a member of Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In his spare time, he loved playing golf, reading books, traveling and most of all spending time with his family.

He will be missed tremendously by his wife, Susan McAlister; children, Kim and Zach Stephens, Kari and Ryan Gold, Billy and Tara Nichols, and Amy and Jody Franke; siblings, Bobbie and Johnny Metcalf, Wanda and Buster Craft, John and Marsha McAlister; grandchildren, Kenley Gold, Payton Stephens, Gavin Gold, Cooper Stephens, Talon Gold, Logan and Chris Lilly, Landon Nichols, Korbyn Franke, Jace Franke, Cody Franke, Keaton Franke, and Austyn Franke; great-grandchildren, Laikyn Nichols and Liam Nichols; and numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.

Perry was preceded in death by John Doyle McAlister, JoDeBob McAlister, Opal Robinson, Alvia "Robbie" Robinson, Julia Louise (Robinson) McAlister, Blaine Gold, Rick Craft and Glenda (McAlister) King.

Visitation is set for 8am to 8pm on April 20, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury Avenue in Bethany. There will be a graveside service at 10am, Friday, April 21, at Green Hill Cemetery, 400 E. Teel Road in Sapulpa, which will serve as his body's final resting place.
