Lifetime Bristow resident, Nona Jean Williams was born June 9, 1925 to Lonnie A. and Irene Elizabeth (Townsend) Alcorn. She departed this life on Thursday, April 28, 2011 in Bristow at the age of 85 years.
On March 12, 1943, Nona Jean Alcorn was united in marriage with the late, Bennie J. Williams in Tulsa, Oklahoma and to this union three children were born, Shirley, Bennie, and Janice. Nona attended Faith Baptist Church in Slick. She was a member of the Busy Bee Homemakers Club and active with the 4H receiving the outstanding leader award. Nona enjoyed baby-sitting, cake decorating, cooking, gardening, fishing, and traveling, collecting spoons and bells from all the places she traveled.
Nona is survived by three children, Shirley Hendricks and her husband, Rodney of Bristow, OK, Bennie R. Williams and his wife, Melinda of Foyil, OK, and Janice Kay Campbell and her husband, Raymond of Bristow, OK.; one brother, Sonny Alcorn of Bristow; seven sisters, Maxine Lane, Pat Burton, Dot Mizell, and Betty Schivally all of Bristow, Rita Mae Huntsinger of Sapulpa, Lonnie Joyce Hohensee of Choctaw, and Nancy Harrold of Ft. Gibson; nine grandchildren, Robin Waltrip, Nikki Jo Stewart, Stacey Borgstadt, Tracey Dostal, Jennifer Cummmings, Ryan Williams, Jana Lee Williams, Nicholas Campbell, and Jimmie Ray Campbell; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two grandchildren, Sandy Jean Hendricks and Jodi Lynn Campbell; one sister, Reba Provence; and one brother, Allen Alcorn.
Funeral services will be 2pm, Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Faith Baptist Church in Slick with Reverend Steve Lamberson and Reverend Bryan Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in Bristow City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Faith Baptist Church, PO Box 158, Slick, OK 74071.
