Born May 21, 1929 in Bristow, Oklahoma, Wanda Omega Henderson McDaniel passed from this life to her eternal home on December 26, 2025 at the age of 96.
Wanda was the ninth child and seventh daughter of George William Henderson and Sarah Catherine Childress Henderson. She grew up on the family farm 3 miles south of Bristow.
Wanda was a 1947 graduate of Bristow High School. On January 17, 1948 Wanda and Clyde Harvey McDaniel were united in marriage. They were happily married for 55 years until Clyde's death on February 16, 2003. Wanda was employed as a salesclerk at Kemp Drug and later at the Washington Elementary School Cafeteria. She also worked for Bob Burris Insurance Agency and for Kwikset. Her most noted accomplishments were raising her four children and faithfully serving God in the First Freewill Baptist Church of Bristow for more than 65 years, keeping nursery, teaching VBS and organizing and serving funeral dinners along with her sisters and other church workers. She was a dedicated prayer warrior, and her greatest hope was that her children and grandchildren would all accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior. Wanda spent countless summers tending to her grandchildren and always made sure they were taken to church. She taught her children from the Bible at very early ages and continued to keep prayer vigil over them well into their adult years.
Wanda was proceeded in death by her parents, George and Sarah, husband, Clyde, brothers Jack Henderson and Floyd Henderson, sisters, Sylvia Burgett, Vada Weaver, Flora Weaver, Mildred Flood, Alta Morton, and Eva Boomer, numerous sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews and a great granddaughter, Emma Christine McDaniel, son-in-law Steve Campbell and daughter in law Debbie McDaniel.
Wanda leaves behind four children, Ron McDaniel (Nancy) of Bristow, Randy McDaniel of Corpus Christi, Texas, Susie Campbell of Bristow, Dale McDaniel (Sheila) of Prague, Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 8 great- great grandchildren.
We are forever grateful for the staff of Complete Hospice, who helped with Mama's care for the past year. Thank you, Rebecca, Tinnie, Porche and Chelsey. She loved you all.
We know that Mama is in heaven enjoying a great reunion with her loved ones who were waiting there and was welcomed safely into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
**We love you, Mama.**
