Bruce Clayton Coleman

November 10, 1958 ~ February 1, 2024

On Sunday, February 11, 2024, Bruce C. Coleman passed from this life and ascended to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although he will be dearly missed, it is also time to celebrate a life well led. Bruce was born in Seminole, Oklahoma on November 10, 1958 as the second child of Brice and JoNell Coleman. The family moved numerous times over the years, then settled in Bristow, Oklahoma.

Bruce graduated from Bristow High School in 1976. He continued his education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where he graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. It wasn't just academic study that kept Bruce busy at NSU, as he forged friendships with his fraternity brothers in the pledge class of 1979 in the Accacia Fraternity.

Following college Bruce embarked on his professional career. Bruce was always known to be a loyal man, so it was no surprise that where Bruce started his career is also where he finished, spending over thirty years as a salesman at Quikrete where he had just as many friends as he did colleagues.

In 1986 Bruce's daughter Erin was born. Erin was the apple of her father's eye, and he was always proud of her, watching her graduate from OSU and later become a Physician's Assistant. In 1999 Bruce married the love of his life, Kim Coleman, and they established their lives and home in Broken Arrow. This union also gave Bruce the joy of becoming a father to Melia Mastler, and later a grandfather to Melia's three children.

Bruce had many pursuits that made him happy. He was a voracious reader, an avid football fan, a fantasy football enthusiast, a loyal Sooner and Red Sox fan, and he enjoyed golfing, loved wolves, large cats, and "lunching" with friends. But when people ask what Bruce liked to do, the best and most honest answer is that he loved being a friend to others and providing them with a listening and attentive ear. He would always try to help and be there for anyone he could. Bruce is preceded in death by his father Brice Coleman, and he is survived by his wife Kim Coleman, his daughters Erin Coleman and Melia Matsler, his granddaughters Stormie, Teigan, and Preslee, his mother JoNell Coleman, his brother "Big Larry" Coleman and wife Pam, and brothers Mike and Lewis Coleman, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family asks that if you attend the funeral service for Bruce this Saturday that you honor his memory by wearing either OU Sooner or Boston Red Sox attire. Also, because there will be more stories to tell than time to do so, the family invites attendees to tell some of those stories in letters that can be given to the family at the service to read and enjoy later. Whether you just met Bruce or had the privilege of knowing him, then you knew what it was like to be genuinely loved. Godspeed Bruce, we look forward to being reunited with you in the life yet to come.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Bristow Free Will Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Bristow City Cemetery.
