Lenora Faye Vail, 80, Welch, died Monday afternoon, June 23, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., with her family at her side.

She was born Dec. 15, 1927, in Centralia, to Harry and Nettie (Jackman) Howe. She was a graduate of Centralia High School. She worked as a seamstress for Glen-Berry Manufacturing in Commerce for several years before landing a job as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart, retiring Dec. 1, 1991.

She was an avid gardener and homemaker. She enjoyed reading and watching her favorite TV programs. Most of all whe enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on Sunday afternoons, when she would always have the family dinner ready. She attended the Welch Baptist Church, and was an active member of the Senior Citizens of Welch and Bluejacket.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. She is survived by five sons, Leon Vail and wife Sandy, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Raymond Vail and wife Cathy, Wann, Jack Vail and wife Rita, Salina, Jim Vail and Danny Vail and wife Rhonda, all of Vinita; two daughters, Glenda Sumner and husband Ward, Bluejacket, and Brenda Howard and husband Danny, Pryor; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Demple Kastler, Altamont, Kan.; brother-in-law, Raymond L. Vail, Collinsville; and several friends.

Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, June 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Welch Baptist Church.

Services are Friday June 27, 2 p.m., at the Welch Baptist Church with the Rev. C.G. Gillmore and the Rev. Bob Whitchurch officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Buddy, Johnny, Randy, James, Vernon, and Matthew Vail, Raymond Lee Vail, Jr., Kelly Brown, Cody Howard and Randy Wayne Boston.

Interment at Williams Timberhill Cemetery, east of Welch.

Services are under the direction of Jim Thomas, Thomas Funeral Home, Welch.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
